Teach Abroad in Bangladesh
WorldTeach works with the overseas partner, the Asian University for Women (AUW), to create a unique and competitive program in Bangladesh. In 2016 the Asian University for Women seeks WorldTeach volunteers for the pilot Pathways for Promise program. Volunteers will work under the direction of Master Teachers to develop, refine, and implement curricula aimed at educating exceptional women, with the intention of graduating them into AUW’s Access Academy and ultimately the undergraduate program at AUW. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution to apply. The ideal candidate will possess a TESOL or TEFL certificate, with a specialization in English for Academic Purposes or Second Language Acquisition, some classroom experience, and a desire to make a career in education. Applicants that do not have TEFL experience but with a background in science and mathematics are also asked to apply. AUW offers extraordinary opportunities for professional development, a remarkably diverse student body of women from 16 Asian countries, and a tightly-knit and collegial intellectual community. Candidates with an interest in the connection between higher education and social justice will be especially welcomed. Read on for more information.
